A significant commotion unfolded at the Bhairav Ghat along the Ganga River in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, as locals spotted a massive crocodile on Tuesday (January 30). The sighting led to fear and panic among the people, who began filming the reptile as it reached dangerously close to the ghat. Fortunately, there were no individuals taking a holy dip in the river at that moment.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, highlighting the perilous proximity of the crocodile to the ghat. Residents immediately contacted the emergency number 112 and the forest department to address the situation, ensuring the safety of the public. It is speculated that the crocodile, seeking sun exposure, returned to the waters after a large crowd gathered along the riverbank.

The fear of crocodile encounters continues in Kanpur, as another incident was reported at Rani Ghat. A crocodile was observed near the pumping station at Rani Ghat, creating a similar spectacle of sunbathing on the riverbank. Fortunately, the reptile returned to the waters without causing harm or initiating an attack on anyone in the area.

Authorities have yet to report the relocation of the crocodile to its original habitat. The Bhairav Ghat, situated in the Kohana Police Station area, witnessed a tense moment as the massive reptile came ashore, prompting locals to raise alarm and seek intervention from the forest department.
